Monte dei Paschi di Siena 1472 - present, the oldest surviving bank in the world. Founded in 1472 by the Magistrate of the city state of Siena, Italy. it has been operating ever since.

C. Hoare & Co is England's oldest privately owned bank.
Founded in 1672 by Sir Richard Hoare, C. Hoare & Co. remains a family owned and managed bank providing private banking, financial planning and investment management services to wealthy individuals in the UK.

Barclays, which was founded by John Freame and Thomas Gould in 1690 and renamed to Barclays by Freame's son-in-law, James Barclay, in 1736. In 1728, the bank moved to 54 Lombard Street, which was identified by the 'Sign of the Black Spread Eagle', over the years becoming a core part of the bank's identity.
